The property in Woolwich is a great place to meet and network. And over at QEOP, our offices are a stopping-off point to join in all the cool stuff happening at the Plexal centre.
Driving around Greenwich and Stratford, our vehicles and mobile data gathering units always attract interest and attention. They’re fully SMLL branded and equipped with all the latest technology, sensors, data recording systems and connectivity.
Customers can use designated parking places close to the testbeds on both of our sites. At Greenwich, the secure CAV garage is on-site at SMLL’s Woolwich HQ.
Both sites offer EV charging points for parked vehicles.
SMLL customers can obtain advanced and accurate data-driven insights into urban mobility from our state of the art control room.
The control room is equipped with AV systems showing live footage of the entire SMLL testbed. Leading-edge technology provides data services for storage, analysis and integration. Real-world data is clearly presented using visual analytics.
SMLL is enabled by a unique and sophisticated set of physical and technology infrastructure. Roadside monitoring equipment, technology connectivity using a range of protocols, an extensive data platform and a complex road environment create a complete and challenging real-world urban testbed. These facilities provide comprehensive and detailed test and trial evaluation and data for all kinds of CAVs, infrastructure, services and components.

TRL's portable driving simulator has interactive controls, frontal screens and wing mirror visuals with 180˚ projection of the driving scene providing a natural driving experience for research participants.
The simulator is used for researching new vehicle and in-car technologies, traffic management, driver behaviour, safety regulations, road infrastructure features, new road layout designs, air quality, drive cycles, and much much more.
SMLL is able to offer commercial access to the Loughborough University HFRL through a strategic partnership. The lab forms part of CAM TestbedUK under the umbrella of SMLL, and is interoperable with the other testbeds.
O2/Telefonica are providing 5G connectivity to the testbed in the London Borough of Greenwich. 5G is a key enabler of many new C-ITS applications, personal mobility technologies and travel and logistics services. Being able to test it in a real world setting ahead of a wider rollout is an exciting feature of the testbed.
The infrastructure we put in place will play just as big a part in the future of mobility as the vehicles themselves.
